Free Australian Maps for Garmin
Not often you find free maps but a very smart guy nicknamed Shonky Logic decided to create maps that Garmin have not considered for Australia. Australia is recognized worldwide for its wide beaches and ancient landscape, something that many Australians find they need to be part of getting in a 4WD, Bike, walking or Caravaning and visiting. The Australian Outback is however not a place you want to lose, something many visitors and tourists find they do not take care to make sure they have enough of the essential elements such as the abundance of water, food and communication. Like everywhere you go away, it is always good to let people know your itinerary so that if they do not hear from you at some point it is so much easier to find you in the thousands of square kilometers of land that visits.
GPS has exploded onto the recreational market is the fastest growing technology in the world. You will find in your watch, shoes, mobile phone (GSM), Emergency Beacon (EPIRB), planes, trains and cars. Every day, without realizing it, you met GPS and thankfully many people have realized the benefits of these small devices in such circumstances where there is often no tracks or roads, can be a river, a rock or a strange tree, and maybe even a Kangaroo!
Garmin is probably the largest manufacturer of recreational GPS worldwide, but they are still developing maps for the world. However, Australians could not wait any longer and so the development plans Shonky. The term or name card is not correct, because there is nothing shonky about it at all. The map is based on Geoscience Australia (GA) NATMAP raster maps, and GA is the Federal Australian Mapping Agency. The original cards are designed to work with products such as OziExplorer, TrackRanger and many more similar products. However, Natmaps does not work on Garmin GPS until now.
If you are looking for free maps of Australia for your Garmin, containing many details, including highways, major roads, waterways, and much more, then you must obtain a copy of this card .......
